Most likely your team members will be individually raising funds, but there are also some fun and creative ways you and your team members can raise money together, especially if you work for the same company! Here are some ideas to get you started…
Set progressive milestone goals and give little prizes to the person that meets the fundraising goals first. Send weekly emails to update team members as to who has raised the most money up to date.
Get all your co–workers together at Karaoke bar and challenge each other for certain dollar amounts (or counteroffer to get out of singing) to hear their peers sing. You can even get departments to participate and do a group song!! Be creative with this one, it can bring in a lot of money!
For example, a co–worker might have to contribute to the…
- “Swear Jar” for saying a bad word
- “Negativity Jar” for making a negative comment
- “Late Jar” for being late to work
See if your management will approve a specific day of the week (especially if you don’t have a casual Friday policy), in which employees can wear jeans or other casual attire to work for a donation of $5.00.
Set up a jar of candy on your desk and charge $1.00 an item.
Create a poster with some form of Pledge–o–Meter (i.e. fund raising thermometer) with your goal amount listed. Make a note on your poster saying, “Help me reach my fundraising goal” and continually color it in as your funds are donated.
Ask your company to allow you to run a pledge letter or ad to sponsor your team in the company newsletter or send an inter–office email.
See if your HR department will let your employees cash out a sick day in exchange for a pledge.
We have created Family Service Agency Doves to be sold at a $1.00 donation
